Tom Karpowitz

 

Tom Karpowitz is President and a founder of Delmartian Engineering.

Since 1989, Tom held a variety of positions with Sun Microsystems.  In his most recent role as Senior Staff Engineer in the Global Communities Technical Office, Tom’s responsibilities included the research and analysis of interoperability technologies and the study of trends in social networking.  His areas of focus included system internals, PC interoperability, and systems and network design

Tom was a 2005 team recipient of Sun’s Chairman’s Award for Innovation.

Prior to joining Sun, Tom worked for ten years as a software developer and systems designer for a number of high-technology companies in fields as diverse as 3D medical imaging, power supply testing, and automated fingerprint identification.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  His interests include computer games, Chinese martial arts, soccer, basketball, homebrewing, woodworking, science fiction, and horse riding.
